As a small Local Authority, we have the privilege of getting to know our carers’ personalities and interests. This, together with having children’s social workers in-house and council-led services for young people, enables us to make the best matches possible for you and our Looked After children.
Foster carers transferring to Croydon receive:
- A welcome payment of £1500
- Up to £604 per week per child (excluding enhanced rates)
- Up to 12 weeks retainer fee
- Direct access to educational support
- Dedicated therapist for our foster carers
- The development of a ‘fostering hubs’ support network scheme

- Peer support groups and mentor scheme
