Report a rubbish collection problem
Driver shortage impacts waste and recycling collections
Collections of recycling and general waste continue to be impacted by a national shortage of HGV drivers. We are working with our collection contractor, Veolia, on a daily basis to review driver numbers and put as many crews out as possible. Despite this, some collections are taking place later than scheduled.
Friday 3 December
We are currently completing most kerbside collections on their scheduled day. Collections in some areas may be affected due to changes in the availability of our drivers. Please continue to put your bins out for collection on your normal day.
The priority for today is to complete yesterday's outstanding collections in the following postcode areas:
- Communal collections in SE25, SW16, SE19, CR0, CR9 and CR2
- Recycling in SE25, CR7, CR0, CR2, SE19 and SW16
Collections for today may be affected in the following postcode areas:
- Recycling in CR0, SE19 and CR7
- Refuse in CR0
- Communal collections in CR0, CR7 and CR9
If your entire street is not collected
If your street is not collected on schedule, please don’t report this as a missed collection, but leave your waste and recycling out and crews will get to you as soon as possible.
If other properties on your street are collected
Please continue to report individual missed collections - where crews collect from other properties on their street but miss yours - in the same way as usual.
Report a missed collection
If your rubbish collection is missed, or you have any other problem with the collection, you must report it within 2 working days, starting at 10pm on the day of the collection.
If we missed your collection by mistake, we will reschedule your collection for the next working day after you report the problem.
You can report a rubbish collection problem in My Account - rubbish and recycling.
We will not return if the collection was not our mistake, for example if your rubbish bin:
- was not left for collection at the front of your property
- contained food waste
- contained textiles
- contained batteries
- contained electrical waste
- contained garden waste
- contained DIY waste
- was over-filled, preventing the lid from closing
In these cases we will put a tag on your bin to explain why it was not collected. You can also find the reason it was not collected in My Account - rubbish and recycling. You will have to wait for your next collection.
