Get pre-application advice

We recommend you get advice to make sure your application has the best chance of succeeding. We offer different levels of pre-application advice: find out more about these here.

For large, complex or strategic developments, this may also include a Place Review Panel and presentation to Planning Committee.

There is a fee for this advice, but it may save you money by getting your application in good shape – we will not negotiate on submitted planning applications except in exceptional circumstances so issues should be resolved at pre-application stage

There are also other professional organisations that can give you advice on your proposals.

An architect or planning agent could help to develop detailed plans. They can also tell you if you need planning permission and can submit an application on your behalf.
