Regina Road

In December 2024 the contract for the demolition of 1-87 and 89-123 Regina Road was awarded to Colemans. Preparatory work for the demolition, including the stripping out of block 1-87 began in January 2025. The demolition started in April 2025 and should finish in autumn 2025.

Demolition work hours:

• Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 6:00pm
• Any noisy work will start after 8:00am 

There are currently no plans for weekend or bank holiday work. Any out-of-hours work will be communicated in advance.

A ‘Meet the Contractor’ session was held with residents in January 2025. An update of the works was presented to the Regina Road residents working group (RWG) in February.

The demolition site

The site has been fenced off with hoarding that shows designs commissioned by the council. These were shown to residents at the consultation event held in November 2024.

Work will commence on blocks 89-123 (if blocks are empty) once demolition of 1-87 Regina is completed.
