Youth voice: Croydon Youth Assembly (CYA)

Boris.Rupnik@croydon.gov.ukIn the Youth Engagement Team, we strive to ensure that the voices of young people living in Croydon are heard by decision makers and that their views are considered when decisions are made that impact on their lives. The main project that we run to achieve this goal is Croydon Youth Assembly.

About the Croydon Youth Assembly (CYA)

Croydon Youth Assembly (CYA) is a forum for young people to meet every 3 months and have their voices heard, discuss issues that affect them and share information about opportunities available to young people in Croydon.

Each young person will represent a school or a community organisation, representing the views and opinions of the young people in their organisation/school as well as sharing information they gain in the CYA meetings.

CYA membership

CYA membership currently consists of 10 secondary schools and 5 community organisations. We are very keen to grow our membership, so if you are a secondary school in Croydon with a school council, or a community organisation with a youth advisory board, we would like to hear from you.

Date and location

The meetings will take place approximately every 3 months in the council chambers of Croydon Town Hall.
