The apprentice search is on!
Are you enthusiastic and hardworking? Do you keep being told you don’t have enough experience? If so, our internal apprenticeship programme is for you!
Following the success of Croydon’s internal apprenticeship programme, we are now looking for our second cohort of apprentices. If you are keen to kick start your career and are interested in gaining invaluable experience at the council, we have an array of opportunities available that will help you do just that.
Don’t just take our word for it though:
“I feel so honoured to be a part of my team; everyone is so supportive and welcoming. I genuinely feel like I am going to learn so much on this apprenticeship scheme and it will contribute significantly to my personal development as well as me being able to contribute to the company as one of the voices for young people.” Ainat, youth engagement apprentice
“I was excited to start because I felt a great relief that I had a job and something to get up for in the morning. Working in the local Council also provides me with an exciting opportunity to learn valuable experience in an environment I would love to forge a long career in.” Imad, economic development apprentice
Starting in April, this cohort of apprentices will be working in a variety of teams across the council, including Procurement, Public Health, Social Services and many more.
Apprentices will be given a fixed term contract for a minimum of 12 months and depending on the apprenticeship they do, will receive a training salary ranging from £8000 - £14,500. Someone you know could be working towards a qualification in:
- Youth Work
- Business Administration
- Customer Service
- Project Management
As a council, we are committed to providing high quality placements that will help put local residents on the right path to develop the essential skills, experience and knowledge they need to successfully secure employment in the future. We understand that experience is something that grows over time so are actively working to provide local people with entry level opportunities that will enable them to understand the world of work and how to succeed within it.
Anyone aged 16+ with A-D in GCSE Maths and English is eligible to apply.
