Fire Safety

Fire Safety

Fire safety is a priority for us and we are committed to providing safe homes to all council residents. Every block managed by us receives regular fire safety inspections and fire safety works are carried out as a priority.

We work closely with London Fire Brigade our housing partners and developers to ensure fire safety across the residential sector, that our residents are safe in the event of a fire and that residents can be evacuated as quickly as possible if there is an emergency.

We are also working towards meeting the requirements of the Fire Safety Act 2021 and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022. Some of the requirements include sharing fire safety information with our residents. Some of this information is already displayed in the communal areas of in the council estates in the form of a fire action notice.

Over the course of 2023, we will be carrying out various tasks to ensure that our blocks comply with the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022. This will include developing a resident engagement strategy with residents.

The resident engagement strategy will set out:

  • how we will communicate with residents
  • what information we will share about building safety and fire safety measures
  • what decisions regarding fire safety works residents will be consulted about, and how they are consulted
  • a procedure to investigate relevant complaints and an escalation process if the complaint needs to be taken further
