Community collection days

We are introducing a new Community Collection Day pilot programme to help residents dispose of unwanted bulky household items conveniently, responsibly and free of charge within their neighbourhood.

Working in partnership with residents' associations and Veolia, the scheme aims to:

• reduce fly-tipping and illegal waste dumping
• improve neighbourhood cleanliness
• increase opportunities for reuse and recycling
• make bulky waste disposal easier for resident
• support cleaner and more sustainable communities

The pilot will help us assess whether Community Collection Days could be expanded to other areas of the borough in the future. The pilot will run from Saturday 7 November to 5 December 2026.
