How the service works

On the scheduled collection day, from 10am and 1pm only, collection vehicles will travel through designated roads or collection points to collect eligible bulky household items.

It is a free service, and residents do not need to book a collection. To take part, you must:

  • place eligible items at the boundary of your property within your property line (curtilage)
  • not place items on the public highway, footway or grass verge before the collection event, as this may be treated as fly-tipping
  • ensure items are ready for collection by 10am on the collection day
  • clearly label and identify which items are for collection
  • remain responsible for items until they have been collected
  • follow any instructions provided by your residents' association or the council and its contractor Veolia
