Attending your appointment

Your appointment will last about 20 minutes per child. You must arrive 10 minutes before your appointment starts. If you are more than 10 minutes late, your appointment will not be held and you will have to rebook.

You do not need to bring your baby to your registration appointment. Due to limited accessibility, if you want to bring your baby you will need to use the entrance through the Clock Tower Library.

The entrance is at 9 Katharine St, Croydon, CR0 1NX. Please use the lift to get to the first floor, and follow the signage to the registry office.

Who can attend an appointment

Only the person or people essential for the registration should attend the appointment. Anyone who is not required for the registration will not be permitted to enter the building.

Do not bring:

  • the baby with you (unless you have to)
  • any other children or family members with you (unless you have to)

If you are not married or in a civil partnership with your partner

If the mother wants the baby’s father’s details to be entered into the register, then both parents will need to attend the appointment.

If you are married or in a civil partnership with your partner

Only one of you will be able to attend the appointment.
