Private rented housing survey 2024

We want to support people living in privately rented homes in Croydon. Around 1 in 4 Croydon residents are private renters and many are living with unacceptable conditions such as poorly maintained or unsafe housing.

We are conducting a borough-wide survey to help us to understand private renting in Croydon. We aim to survey 800 to 1000 properties from May to October 2024.

Independent surveyors will visit privately rented homes to gather and record information including on building and property safety and repairs. Each home visit by a surveyor will last no longer than 45 minutes.

How you can help

If you live in a privately rented home in Croydon, you can help by providing access to your home for an independent surveyor to conduct a short survey. Surveys will be carried out some time between May and October 2024.

The independent surveyors carry identification which should be shown before giving access to your home.
