Landlord licensing
The consultation on the introduction of a selective licensing and HMO additional licensing scheme ran for 12 weeks and closed on 12 January 2026. The responses are being reviewed and further information will be released soon.
We do not currently have a licensing scheme for privately rented properties, apart from mandatory HMO licensing.
