Disabled facilities grant

After your grant application has been approved we will pay the agreed amount either in instalments as the work progresses or in a lump sum once the work has been completed.

Your grant will only be paid when the council is satisfied that the work has been completed in accordance with the grant approval.

Grants will only be paid on provision of an invoice or receipt.

The grant can be paid either to you, so that you can pay the contractor, or directly to the contractor.

Please note: when the work is carried out by the applicant or a relative, only invoices for materials or services for the specific work will be accepted.

If you qualify for a grant, we will pay for the cost of the adaptations needed to your home up to a maximum of £30,000 inclusive of all fees, planning costs and VAT chargeable.
