We have set up a Climate Action Forum (CAF) which is open to any charity, school, business, association or organisation in the borough to join. This will help form part of our solution for tackling the climate crisis.

In July 2019, we declared a climate emergency. We set up the Croydon Climate Crisis Commission to guide our response to the climate emergency. In June 2021 the commission produced a report which included recommendations on how the borough can become carbon neutral.
The Carbon Neutral Action Plan was revised to a Climate Action Plan in June 2025.
We are holding bi-annual in person external forum events to bring together external organisations, interest groups, and Council officers to share updates, exchange ideas, and collaborate on shaping and delivering the Council’s Climate Action Plan.

Our Climate Action Plan 2030 has been formally approved. This builds on our earlier Carbon Neutral Action Plan and responds to the challenges which all councils are facing in delivering actions to address climate change.
