The Civic Mayor will work hard to raise awareness and raise funds for the following two local charity groups he has chosen to support during his civic mayoral term.
Funds raised to the Civic Mayors Charity Fund will be distributed equally between the two chosen charities at the end of the year.
The centre was inspired by former Mayor of Croydon and New Addington Councillor Brenda Kirby MBE, who suffered from incurable brain and lung cancer. It offers information, support, counselling and complementary therapies for cancer patients and their carers.

The Duffus Community Foundation is a local charity that provides support for children and young people who have experienced emotional hardship, such as having a loved one with cancer.
The foundation provides two types of programmes: ‘Right Track’ and 'Your Space', designed to provide young people with strategies to increase resilience and overall wellbeing, along with fun activities, advice and guidance. Its service also offers advice on financial benefits available to families.
