The Civic Mayor of Croydon

The Civic Mayor will work hard to raise awareness and raise funds, for the following two local charity groups he has chosen to support during his civic mayoral term.

Reaching Higher 

A Croydon-centric youth organisation, built in Croydon with deep local credibility.  Its model is shaping youth work practice across the UK. They work alongside young people, families, schools and communities. Helping young people develop the confidence, agency and influence to shape their own lives and the world around them. 

This is done through:

• contextual youth work
• participatory youth voice
• wellbeing practice for practitioners

As a result, lasting change is created for young people, while strengthening the systems and communities that support them.

Legacy Youth Zone Croydon

An award-winning youth charity in Croydon, providing a safe and inclusive community hub for young people:

• 8 to 19 years old
• up to 25 years old for those with additional needs

Open when school is closed, it offers a wide range of activities, youth work, and wellbeing support. Designed to build confidence, develop skills, and help young people reach their potential - working closely with families, schools, and local partners. This creates lasting positive outcomes through trusted relationships and opportunities for every young person to thrive.
