How to make representations on a premises licence application under the Licensing Act 2003

If you wish to make representations on an application for a new premises licence, you can do so if you are an interested party. An interested party can include local residents or businesses who may be affected by the activities of the premises.

Representations must be by letter or email to the licensing team below within 28 days of the submission of the application. Your representations must relate to at least one of the following licensing objectives:

• the prevention of crime and disorder
• public safety
• the prevention of public nuisance
• the protection of children from harm

An applicant has the right to know the name and address of any person making representations. This will allow them to assess, from a fair point of view, if the person is likely to be affected by the licensable activities if the application is granted. Therefore, you must supply your name and address when making any representations. Please email licensing@croydon.gov.uk should you wish to discuss this.

If you wish to make representations on an application for a new premises licence, you can do so if you are an interested party. An interested party can include local residents or businesses who may be affected by the activities of the premises.

Representations must be by letter or email to the licensing team below within 28 days of the submission of the application. Your representations must relate to at least one or more of the three licensing objectives:

(a) preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime,

(b) ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way, and

(c) protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling
