Resident permit types
Annual permit
A resident permit will let you park in any parking bays where restrictions normally apply, apart from in disabled bays reserved for Blue Badge holders.
We will send you the permit within 5 working days.
When asked to enter the date, please add at least 5 days from the date you are submitting. This will help make sure your permit does not start before you receive it. We can not change the start date after the permit is issued.
Housing estates - annual permit
If you’re a permanent resident in a council-owned housing estate, you can apply for a council housing estates permit. This will allow you to park your car within the estate’s car park or roads only. It will not allow you to park your car on other streets in your area that are covered by normal parking restrictions.
When asked to enter the date, please add at least 5 days from the date you are submitting. This will help make sure your permit does not start before you receive it. We can not change the start date after the permit is issued.
One month permit
You can also get a one month permit, which will let you park in any bay within the selected zone, except disabled bays.
This is a virtual permit: once you have paid for it online it is valid. You do not need to display a physical permit.
What you need to apply for a new permit
To apply for a permit you will need a credit or debit card for payment. You will also need either of the following:
- a photo or scanned copy of page 2 of your V5C registration showing your vehicle make, model, engine size and emissions
- a copy of the details from the online vehicle enquiry service
