Wandle Park is a 4 hectare town centre park. It has been redeveloped to offer some tranquillity to an area of Croydon that has little green space. The river Wandle flows through the park, providing tranquil vistas along the banks of the river.
The park has a host of recreational opportunities. These include:
- An innovative play area
- Community garden
- Rose garden
- Trim trail
- Skate park
- Children's playground
- Ornamental garden
- River Wandle
Wandle Park reopened in 2012 after the park was redeveloped with money from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the London Mayor's Help a London Park fund, and Barrett's Homes.
The park comes alive during the summer with events that have included a summer garden party, community garden volunteer conservation days, sports events and even cinema and theatre. A programme of events will be available here from January 2017.
