Site locations and opening times
Recycling centres in Croydon are for resident use only. You need a permit to use the centres: find out more about the permit scheme.
The sites are open all year round including bank holidays, except Christmas and New Year. The sites will be closed after midday on 24 December, and all day 25 and 26 December and 1 January. Sites get particularly busy at the weekends, so you may have to queue before entering the site.

There will be a pop-up bike reuse shop at Purley Oaks on 14 December 2019 from 10am to 2pm, with a sale of refurbished bikes that have come from our reuse and recycling sites. Kids bikes from £25, adult bikes from £40, with orders taken if necessary.
Vans and large vehicles
The following vehicles are not allowed access to the Fishers Farm and Purley Oaks recycling and reuse centres, and can only access Factory Lane if the driver presents photo ID:
- van
- minibus or people carrier
- pick up
- commercial 4x4
- trailer with an internal length of over 1.5 metres
This is necessary due to space constraints at the reuse and recycling centres and commercial waste rules.
If staff believe that the item(s) that you are attempting to dispose are from commercial activities, you will be turned away. Commercial waste should be disposed of at a licensed site.
Large and heavy vehicles cannot use any of the sites, including, but not limited to:
- over 3.5 tonnes max gross weight
- over 5 metres in length
- over 6 foot 3 inches or 1.93 metres in height
- fitted with false sides or greedy boards
- with more than 4 wheels
- Luton style box vehicles (including any high sided vehicles)
- flatbed vehicles
- 2-door pick-ups
- tipper trucks
- twin axle trailers
- vehicles with trailer with a combined length of over 5 metres
Temporary restriction
Access to the sites during opening hours is sometimes limited, to assist the exchange of full containers. An exchange should not take more than 30 minutes.
Please respect our staff
We will not tolerate verbal abuse and/or threatening behaviour towards staff. Such behaviour may lead to removal of access to the sites.
For you safety and that of other users, don't use your mobile phone whilst on site, or you may be asked to leave.
