Choose how to pay your Council Tax
Choose to pay your council tax bill by Direct Debit, online, by telephone, post or via your bank or building society.
Other ways to pay
Payments by any other method other than Direct Debit must be received in your Council Tax account by the 5th of the month. If you pay at a bank, post office, by post or at a PayPoint outlet, allow enough time for the payment to reach us.

We recommend that you have your Council Tax account number handy, as well as a pen and paper to make a note of the reference number for your payment
Pay by post
Cheques should be made payable to Croydon Council.
You should write your 8 digit Council Tax account reference number on the back of the cheque and remember to include your payment slip.

Pay via your bank or building society
To pay at a bank or building society counter you will need the giro credit slip which is printed on your Council Tax bill.
Local shop by PayPoint
You can pay your Council Tax at any outlet displaying the PayPoint logo using cash only. To make payment you will need to use the barcode that is printed on your Council Tax bill or payment slip.
