Communal areas and private balconies storage policy

This policy outlines how we intend to ensure communal areas and private balconies are maintained in a safe manner. It sets out our responsibility towards the management of health and safety, and in particular, fire safety of communal areas within council buildings. It covers:

• how we manage risk to ensure residents are able to live in an environment that they can be proud of
• the requirement to abide by fire safety legislation
• withdrawing permission to store items in the communal areas and on balconies, which may pose a potential fire
