Special treatments licence

If you run a business that offers beauty treatments, massage, alternative therapies or tanning facilities you may need a special treatments licence.

Renew a special treatment licence

When your licence is due to be renewed, you will be sent an email to the email address you provided for the licence holder.

The email will contain a secure link where you can upload your supporting documents and make annual payment.

If you do not renew your licence by 31 July of the year of issue, the licence will expire, and you will be required to apply for a new licence.

What you will need to renew your licence

Please ensure that you have the following documents available to upload on the portal

  • public liability insurance: we require the policy section which states: 'Public liability insurance' and the amount you are covered for.
  • qualifications: we require evidence of qualifications for licensable treatments being offered at the premises. We only accept OFQUAL regulated qualifications for treatments where they are available.
  • new operative photographs: all operatives will be supplied with an ID Card, please upload a photograph.

Payment

When your licence is due to be renewed, we will send you an email with a secure link to our new online system, where you can upload your supporting documents and make a secure payment.

How long a licence lasts

The licence period starts 1 August of one calendar year and expires 31 July of the following year.
