You can register the stillbirth at the Croydon Register Office. By registering it at the register office, it will simplify the process for you and you will get your stillbirth certificate quickly.
You can register a stillbirth at any other register office in England or Wales, but you will not be given any documentation. The details of the death will be passed to us and we will send your certificates later. This can slow down the registration process and delay funeral arrangements.
To book an appointment, email Croydon Register Office.

If a child is born alive after week 24, but dies shortly afterwards, this must be registered as both a birth and a death separately. In this situation we must book a double appointment, so please let us know when you contact us.
We will confirm your appointment time by email.
You can cancel your appointment by using the online form.
Registration appointments are by telephone so make sure you give us a telephone number to call you at your appointment time.
Your appointment will last about 40 minutes.
We cannot make changes to the register after your appointment, so please decide if you would like to give the baby a first name, and whether to include the name of the father on the register.
You can have a friend or relative sit with you during the appointment to help.
