London Borough of Croydon

Welfare benefit advice service

What we do

We provide support to tackle some of the causes of poverty, help promote independence and enhance life opportunities including access to training and employment.

We assist vulnerable residents to access support and services provided by the council and other third sector organisations such as grants, aids and adaptations as well as providing a free confidential welfare rights service. The take up of advice and entitlements allows our customers to:

  • remain in work/take up work
  • it helps reduce child poverty
  • increases life expectancy
  • challenges inequality of opportunity
