Since 2016 we have been involving local people in an improvement programme, making the Thornton Heath High Street and Brigstock Road more attractive, with funding from the GLA.
The project saw shopfronts improved in the area, as well building frontage improvements and high level artwork murals, alongside the Council’s public realm regeneration scheme. The renovation works focused on parades of architectural value, located strategically near key junctions and gathering spaces to create maximum impact. The council also worked with artists with local connections (Philip Dennis, Ben Connors, Mat Pringle, Bareface and Vân Dang) on flank wall mural artworks which take cues from community engagement themes and narratives.
