Term time and holiday dates for Croydon schools.

These term dates apply to most Croydon local authority schools. Some schools have different holiday and term dates, in particular, voluntary aided schools. Therefore, we advise that you check the schools websites for confirmed dates.

Term dates 2024 to 2025

School terms and holiday dates shown here are advisory only. Therefore you should check with the individual school's website for more information.

In 2024/25 pupils should attend for 190 days (or 380 half sessions). Schools which close for local elections are required to extend the summer term or coincide it with an 'inset' day. Academies, free and voluntary aided schools have similar dates, but it is recommended that you check with individual schools.

Term 1: Monday 2 September to Friday 18 October 2024

  • Half-term holiday: Monday 21 October to Friday 25 October 2024.

Term 2: Monday 28 October to Friday 20 December 2024

  • Christmas and New Year holiday: Monday 23 December 2024 to Friday 3 January 2025.

Term 3: Monday 6 January to Friday 14 February 2025

  • Half-term holiday: Monday 17 February to Friday 21 February 2025.

Term 4: Monday 24 February to Friday 4 April 2025

  • Easter holiday: Monday 7 April to Monday 21 April 2025.

Term 5: Tuesday 22 April to Friday 23 May 2025 (except May Day bank holiday on 5 May 2025)

  • Half-term holiday: Monday 26 May to Friday 30 May 2025 (spring bank holiday on 26 May).

Term 6: Monday 2 June to Tuesday 22 July 2025

School training days

Most schools also have five training (INSET) days in each academic year when pupils don't need to attend. Check with individual schools for these dates.

Other reasons for schools not being open

Schools may close for various reasons including bad weather.
