Term time and holiday dates for Croydon schools.

These term dates apply to most Croydon local authority schools. Some schools have different holiday and term dates, in particular, voluntary aided schools. Check the schools websites for confirmed dates.

Term dates 2026 to 2027

School terms and holiday dates are shown here for the school year beginning in September 2025. These dates apply to all community nursery, primary, secondary and special schools. 

In 2026/27 pupils should attend for 190 days (or 380 half sessions). 

Schools which close for local elections are required to extend the summer term or coincide it with an 'inset' day. 

Academies, free and voluntary aided schools have similar dates, but it is recommended that you check with individual schools. 

The following dates include 5 inset days.

Term 1: Wednesday 2 September to Friday 23 October

  • Half-term holiday: Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October.

Term 2: Monday 2 November to Friday 18 December

  • Christmas and New Year holiday: Monday 21 December to Friday 2 January.

Term 3: Monday 4 January to Friday 12 February

  • Half-term holiday: Monday 15 February to Friday 19 February.

Term 4: Monday 22 February to Thursday 25 March 

  • Easter holiday: Friday 26 March to Friday 9 April.

Term 5: Monday 12 April to Friday 28 May (except May Day bank holiday on 3 May)

  • Half-term holiday: Monday 31 May to Friday 4 June (spring bank holiday on 31 May).

Term 6: Monday 7 June to Thursday 22 July

School training days

Most schools also have 5 training (inset) days in each academic year when pupils don't need to attend. Check with individual schools for these dates.

Other reasons for schools not being open

Schools may close for various reasons including bad weather.
