Textile reuse and recycling

How you can reduce waste of unwanted textiles and clothing.

Unwanted clothes and textiles can be easily recycled or upcycled. This helps to reduce unnecessary waste.

We collect most clothing and textiles or you can visit one of our reuse and recycling centres. If you don't have the textile recycling collection at home or cannot travel to a recycling centre, there are other ways you can reduce waste or dispose of unwanted items:

  • donate to a charity shop or use a textile recycling bank at a supermarket or community centre
  • only buy what you need or buy second hand from a charity shop
  • attend a community clothes swap event
  • buy or sell second hand online

You can also learn to repair or upcycle clothes and other material.
