Mobile recycling centre

Mobile recycling centre - Sanderstead, 14 February 2026

We have launched mobile recycling centres that will travel around the borough to help residents recycle bulky items and reduce fly-tipping.

After a successful trial in Thornton Heath, we are heading to Sanderstead on Saturday 14 February.

The mobile recycling centre will only available to residents within the following postcodes

  • Sanderstead Rd - CR2 0PH, CR2 0FF, CR2 0PJ, CR2 0PB
  • Broomhall Rd - CR2 0PX, CR2 0DT
  • Glossop Road - CR2 0PU
  • Mayfield Rd - CR2 0FF, CR2 0BG, CR2 0BE, CR2 0BF, CR2 0BJ, CR2 0BH, CR2 0BD
  • Beechwood Rd - CR2 0AA, CR2 0AE, CR2 0AA
  • Parrs Close - CR2 0QX

Proof of address must be provided, this can be one of the following:

  • full or provisional UK driving licence
  • EU photocard driving licence
  • utility bill, (dated within last 3 months, not a mobile phone bill
  • bank or building society statement, (dated within last 3 months)
  • Council Tax bill (dated within last 12 months)
  • mortgage statement (dated within last 12 months)
  • benefit statement or letter, for example pension or Child Benefit, (dated within last 3 months)
  • HMRC document (not P45 or P60)


The location will be close to the eligible postcodes. We recommend people walk items to the centre rather than driving. Parking could be very limited.

Location: Sanderstead Road car park, Sanderstead Road, Sanderstead CR2 0LY

What the centre will accept

You can bring up to 5 items.  We accept a full range of materials for recycling, as well as the following:

  • household waste in black bags
  • garden waste
  • small electrical goods
  • small bulky waste items
  • batteries and vapes

Please sort your waste into these groups before leaving home to reduce the amount of time spent on site.

What we do not accept

  • asbestos
  • chemicals
  • gas bottles, these can be taken back to the retailer or provider of the gas canisters.
  • paints or varnishes
  • tyres
  • Any type of liquid waste (any hazardous or non-hazardous waste material in liquid form)
