East India Estate

Designated April 2008

A residential suburb built on land of the former East India Trading Company Military Academy. The area has a notable grid layout and many fine Victorian houses.

Harold Road

Designated April 1973, extended August 1992, December 2008 and July 2015.

An area centred on one of Upper Norwood's grandest residential streets, and formed of large Victorian villas which were built for residents drawn to the area in the late nineteenth century by the relocated Crystal Palace that was moved from Hyde Park to Penge Common in 1854.

Kenley Aerodrome

Designated March 2006

An area described as "the most complete fighter airfield associated with the Battle of Britain to have survived", making it a battlefield site of particular national historic significance. The conservation area includes a number of scheduled monuments.

Norbury Estate

Designated December 2008

An area of Edwardian housing of particular local significance which was the first cottage estate built by the London County Council outside of its boundary.

Norwood Grove

Designated October 2008

Focused around the historic Grade II registered landscape of Norwood Grove, and including a number of fine listed and locally listed Georgian and Edwardian houses. The conservation area adjoins the Streatham Common conservation area in Lambeth.
