Crystal Palace and Upper Norwood

Find out more about the Crystal Palace Town Team.

The Crystal Palace Town Team is a voluntary group of local traders, community groups, residents and local authority councillors that aims to promote and improve the social, economic and environmental well-being of the neighbourhood area of Crystal Palace / Upper Norwood.

A Town Team is an organisation that includes businesses, residents and landowners working collaboratively with local government to improve a place or area, often a town centre or high street.

It began as a response to the many issues that the town centre faces at the edge of five London boroughs, Croydon, Bromley, Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham. Three different boroughs, Croydon, Bromley and Lambeth manage each side of the high street area known locally as the Triangle. The result is no single borough is overlooking the area, or planning for it, as a whole.

The initial group of local people have been meeting since late 2019 and have set up a website to start an engagement with the community: visit the Crystal Palace Town Team website.

By responding to the initial questions on the website local people can:

  • make their voices heard
  • help set the priorities to tackle the most pressing issues
  • help elect a Town Team board
