Local development scheme

The local plan consists of a series of documents which set out the spatial vision for Croydon and the strategy for delivery of this vision. It also sets out detailed policies and guidance for managing development in the borough and development sites where change is anticipated. The description of these documents and their current stage in the local plan process can be found in the updated local development scheme (LDS).

The timetable is summarised in a gantt chart towards the end of the LDS document. Key milestones are:

proposed submission consultation: Summer 2024
submission of plan to Secretary of State: November 2024
local plan examination: anticipated during early 2025 (subject to availability of inspectors)
local plan adoption: anticipated December 2025
