The open land within Kenley Aerodrome Conservation Area is under pressure from changes which could result in threats to its special character and the open appearance of this part of the Metropolitan Green Belt. As such, the following permitted development allowances have been removed from within the designated area:
The erection, construction, maintenance, improvement or alteration of a gate, fence, wall or other means of enclosure.
The council's Article 4 Direction has been confirmed by the Secretary of State on 13 July 2007 and requires that planning permission be sought for the types of development listed above.
