History
Ragged Grove runs along the north eastern side of a private wood and the whole area totals 18 hectares. The woodland which is bordered by arable land is mainly Ash and Oak with some Silver Birch, Hawthorn and Hazel growing underneath. The woodland was a gift from the developer J. Laing and Son Ltd. to the Urban District Council in the thirties. The name Ragged Grove appears in the 1843 Tithe Awards on a similar piece of woodland.
