We operate a buyback scheme to re-purchase properties sold to tenants through the Right to Buy scheme (RTB).
The scheme aims to boost London’s supply of council homes and is funded by the Mayor of London.
Your property will be sold to us at a mutually agreed price, or a price agreed by the district valuer.
If you bought your property from us after 18th January 2005, and wish to sell it within 10 years, you must offer us the right of first refusal.
If we do not have right of first refusal but you still wish to sell your ex-council home, we will consider this if the funds are available.
Eligible properties
To be eligible for the re-purchase scheme your property must:
- have been previously sold by Croydon council under the RTB scheme
- have 2 or more bedrooms (unless of a specific nature such as 1 bedroom bungalows or maisonettes)
- be a house, flat, maisonette or bungalow
- be a freehold or leasehold property
