Consultation stages

Stage 1: 13 December 2022 to 26 January 2023

It is important that you understand what any proposed changes would mean for you, anyone living with you, and the wider community. During the consultation you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the proposed options and what it may mean for you.

You can share your views in different ways. You will be supported by Public Voice, whom residents have appointed as Independent Tenant and Leaseholder Advisers (ITLAs) during the consultation.

Their role is to ensure the consultation process is fair, information is clear and accurate and that all residents are able to fully take part. They are independent to the council and are on hand to help.

Stage 2: 27 January 2023 to Spring ballot

The draft Tenant and Leaseholder and Freeholder offers (PDF, 800KB) will be reviewed after consultation with residents and before the formal ballot in Spring 2023.

The updated offers will include:

  • details of the full right to return or remain for secure social tenants if their homes were demolished and rebuilt
  • the offer for leaseholders and freeholders if their homes were demolished and rebuilt

As part of the offer, proposals for how the area might look if the homes were demolished and rebuilt would be shared with residents. These would include:

  • the proposed tenure mix (how many leaseholders, freeholders and tenants would live on the estate)
  • infrastructure (how the community would be supported with services such as GPs, schools, green spaces and nurseries)
