How to apply
When you complete the online form, please fill in all details carefully. The information you provide is used to process the licence. Read our guidance on the application process for an Additional HMO licence.

Before you apply
You will need to tell us:
- address of the rented property
- full name, address, and contact details of the applicant
- name and addresses of persons or organisations with an interest in the property, such as freeholders, leaseholders, managing agents, mortgage provider
- date of birth of the proposed licence holder
- type of property, for example a flat, house, maisonette
- details of current occupants, for example number of adults and children, household type
- details about property, for example room sizes, location and facilities details, including information on bathrooms, toilets and kitchens or cooking facilities
- details about the property structure and safety equipment
Documents required
You will need to include:
- current gas safety certificate, if applicable
- current electrical installation condition report (EICR)
- energy performance certificate (EPC)
- current test certificate for the fire alarm system
- current test certificate for the emergency lighting, if applicable
- fire safety risk assessment
- planning certificate or approval
- a floor plan showing room sizes, and which facilities are shared and which are exclusive (for example, kitchens and bathrooms)
- building control completion certificate, if applicable
- evidence of accreditation or membership if seeking the relevant discount
- proof of licence holders address, if an individual
- management details (licence holder and any managing agent)

Property inspections
All additional HMO licence applications require an inspection of the property before a licence can be granted. Inspections are carried out by The Oyster Partnership's licensing officers working on behalf of Croydon Council.
