Some of our online forms will be unavailable from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, 3 November. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
We are actively seeking private rented properties in Croydon and surrounding areas to help local families find suitable homes.
Croydon Lettings works with private landlords and managing agents to help them find suitable tenants, while supporting people to find good-quality, settled homes.
Our free service can help you find a suitable tenant without charging letting or tenant introduction fees.
We will:
You can decide whether to offer a tenancy to a prospective tenant following a viewing.
We are particularly interested in self-contained family-sized homes in Croydon and the surrounding areas, although we also welcome enquiries about suitable homes further afield.
Whether you own a single property or manage several, we would like to discuss how Croydon Lettings can support you.
We’ll help you find a suitable prospective tenant and arrange accompanied viewings. We do not charge the landlord, managing agent or prospective tenant for this service. Following the viewing, you can decide whether to offer the tenancy to the prospective tenant, in line with the law.
You may be eligible for a one-off landlord incentive. We may also be able to help prospective tenants with their deposit and rent in advance, making it easier for them to secure a tenancy. Rent-in-advance support is provided for the tenant and paid directly to the landlord. Our team will explain what support is available and any conditions that apply.
We work with households looking for settled homes, including those who may be ready to move quickly, helping to reduce the time your property remains empty.
Our team can help arrange the tenancy start date and support tenants with their initial rent payment, helping to make the move in process smoother for everyone.
We will work with you to agree an appropriate rent, taking account of local market rents, affordability and the circumstances of the property and household. Any landlord incentives or financial support will depend on individual circumstances and must be agreed before the tenancy starts.
A named officer will be available as an initial point of contact and can check in during the early stages of the tenancy. Further support may also be considered where appropriate.
Croydon Lettings helps you find tenants but does not lease or manage your property under this scheme. The tenancy agreement is between you and your tenant. You or your managing agent remain responsible for rent collection, repairs, compliance and day-to-day management. The council does not guarantee ongoing rent payments.
We are looking for self-contained houses, flats, maisonettes and bungalows, particularly two-, three- and four-bedroom family homes.
Properties must be safe, ready to let and meet the relevant legal and regulatory requirements. If you are unsure whether your property is suitable, please contact our team to discuss it.
Before we can offer your property to prospective tenants and before a tenancy is signed, you or your managing agent will need to provide the relevant safety and compliance documents.
These will normally include:
Our team will explain which documents are needed for your property and arrange any additional checks, including an inspection, before the property is advertised or a tenancy goes ahead.
1. Register your interest
Complete our short landlord or managing agent enquiry form, telling us where your property is, how many bedrooms it has, the expected rent and when it will be available.
2. Speak to our team
An officer will contact you to discuss your property, the proposed rent, potential financial incentives that may be available and whether it is suitable for the scheme.
3. Agree the letting arrangements
If we can proceed, we will discuss and agree the proposed rent, any financial support and the next steps, subject to the required checks.
4. Provide documents and arrange checks
You’ll need to provide the relevant safety, compliance and ownership documents. We will review these and arrange a property inspection or other checks as required. Your property will not be made available to prospective tenants until the necessary checks have been completed satisfactorily.
5. Meet prospective tenants
We will identify suitable tenants and arrange accompanied viewings. You decide whether to offer your property to them, subject to applicable legal requirements.
6. Complete the tenancy sign-up
Once you’ve chosen a tenant, we will help coordinate the tenancy start date and initial rent arrangements. All required safety and compliance information must be provided, and the tenancy documentation agreed, before signing.
7. Early tenancy contact
We’ll provide contact details for you and your tenant and arrange check-ins during the early stages of the tenancy. Any further support will depend on circumstances and the support available.
If you have a property available now or in the coming months, complete our landlord or managing agent enquiry form.
