Local Area Coordinators are employed by us and recruited in partnership with the communities they serve. Their role is to work closely with people and to be an accessible point of contact to support the independence of residents, providing early accessible support that prevents problems escalating and addresses health inequalities.
What Local Area Coordinators do
Our coordinators will work with individuals and families to explore options and solutions and help with any issues they might be facing. The aim is to build their confidence and connect them to people who can help.
Working with people
Coordinators are instrumental in helping individuals access information and short-term support, ensuring tailored assistance to meet unique needs by:
- providing personalised support
- building long-term relationships
- providing improvements to health and well-being outcomes
- fining innovative solutions to address complex problems
Working at a community level
Coordinators act as local champions, serving as integral members of their communities and possessing a deep understanding of unique local community challenges. They provide targeted support towards those most in need by:
- working with existing initiatives and partnerships to enhance community activities
- building capacity with community members, groups, agencies and services
- helping residents to integrate within their communities through sustained community engagement
