Election of a Mayor for the London Borough of Croydon

An election is to be held for a local authority mayor in the London Borough of Croydon.

Nomination papers can be obtained from the office of the Returning Officer at:

CR0 1EA

Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer between 10am and 4pm. This can be done on any working day (excluding bank holidays) from the date of publication of this notice and no later than 4pm on Thursday 9 April 2026.

Deposit

The £500 deposit can be paid by legal tender or bank transfer to:

If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026.

Voter registration and voting arrangements

• Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Monday 20 April 2026.
• Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026.
• Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
• Applications to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026.

The deadline to cancel or amend an existing proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026.

Applications to vote by emergency proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 7 May 2026.
