Education estates strategy 2023 to 2026

Our plan to meet the statutory duty for school places, whilst reducing our costs.

This strategy aims to minimise our borrowing to an absolute minimum, whilst fulfilling our statutory duty for the availability of school places. It covers the 3 stages of education, including special educational needs and disability, and the pupil referral unit: 

  • early years
  • primary
  • secondary

The proposals outlined in this report will ensure that we:

  • comply with school place planning duties to promote high standards of education and fair access to education
  • secure provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities
  • respond to parental preference
