Freeman court is one of 6 extra care homes in the borough. After listening to what residents would like to see happen in their garden and outside spaces, we carried out extra cleaning and gardening works. Work included litter picking, pruning, hedge and shrub reduction work, refurbishing garden furniture and repainting of railings.
The community payback team, who give back to the community by doing something meaningful for their offences, provided the work. We hope this will lead to other opportunities that will benefit our residents in the community. Together we hope to improve their environment, encourage people to use and enjoy the outside spaces and engage in conversation with people undertaking the work and share their story which everyone has.
The councils’ contractor Axis Europe funded tools and materials and the Bulky refuge team disposed of the green waste.
