Southsea Court volunteering day
Dispute the efforts of the resident at Southsea Court to keep things in good shape, overgrown shrubs in the garden around the patio area and surrounding beds made the garden look untidy and unloved. The residents expressed the need for help.
5 volunteers from across the council worked together to dig out, prune, cut back shrubs and give a general tidy up.
One of the residents came out to get involved but primarily provided supervision and advice as to how the garden used to be, what the residents were trying to achieve with the beds and had an interesting story to tell.
Colleagues from Veolia provided green waste bags and the Tenancy bulk refuse team made sure the bags were picked up and recycled.
