Information on the public disorder and unrest.
Police were called to an incident in Croydon town centre last night, where a small group of young people were causing antisocial behaviour.
This was not a planned attack as seen elsewhere in the UK and, thanks to the swift action of the police, the group was dispersed within an hour.
Ten arrests were made, 1 for assault on an emergency worker, 4 for violent disorder, 4 for breaching a Section 35 dispersal order and 1 for going equipped for arson.
No property was targeted or damaged. Council street cleaning crews attended after the disturbance to clean up any debris.
We are continuing to work alongside our Croydon community leaders and the police, who are monitoring the situation.
At this time, there is no police intelligence of any further incidents in the borough. Any incidents should be reported to the police.

We are aware of rumours circulating online about reports of attacks in Croydon tomorrow (Wednesday 7 August). We want to confirm that our position remains the same - that at this time there is no police intelligence that we will see violent activity in Croydon. However, we must all remain alert, vigilant and report any issues to the police.

When going about your day tomorrow, you may see more police officers in your local area. If anyone is concerned, has questions or needs help, please speak to them. They are there to help.
We will continue to work with the police who are monitoring the situation. The police have also given assurance that if anything were to change, they have plans in place.
