Have you thought about what you would do if your school is flooded? Your computer systems are hacked? If an emergency happens whilst you’re out on a school trip? Is your school's resilience plan up to date, and has it been tested? 

You can find a lot of great advice, guidance and checklists from the government for educational establishments (incl. emergency planning, business continuity, security, bomb threat, lockdowns, etc).

School Resilience Service

The Croydon Council Resilience Team also offer a resilience service to schools. The team respond to emergencies within the borough so can share their expertise and the most up to date advice with you to support your school’s business continuity and emergency planning. Services offered includes:

School resilience review 

an assessment of your existing emergency planning arrangements, and provision of a summary report with recommendations for improvement.

School resilience plan development

an assessment of your existing emergency planning arrangements and development of a resilience plan for your governing board approval.

School resilience validation exercise

delivery of a bespoke exercise to validate your plan and increase resilience awareness amongst staff. This is followed by a summary report identifying recommendations and areas for improvement.
