How to make a consumer complaint 

Free, confidential and impartial advice on consumer issues in Croydon is provided by the Citizens Advice consumer service,
where you can find a wide range of information and advice.

Details of all consumer enquiries dealt with by the Citizens Advice consumer helpline are made available to Trading Standards. This information is reviewed and risk assessed to enable us to target the use of our resources in the most effective way. Trading standards have a range of enforcement tools and actions available to them including warnings, cautions and prosecutions depending on the facts and evidence of each individual case. However in some cases no further action is taken and the information is noted for information and intelligence only.

An Officer will only contact you if further information is required. 

It is important that all complaints are referred to the Citizens Advice consumer service as they maintain a national database of complaints that provides an invaluable source of information and intelligence to the trading standards community.
