Misuse of a Blue Badge

Misuse of your Blue Badge is a criminal offence and can lead to a fine and the badge being taken away.

It is your responsibility to use your Blue Badge according to the guidelines. If you misuse your Blue Badge, you risk a £1,000 fine, and the badge will be taken away from you.

You must not:

  • allow someone else to use your blue badge
  • use a fake or altered blue badge
  • use dishonesty or deception to get a blue badge
  • use a cancelled badge while your vehicle is being driven or is parked
  • use a badge that should have been returned while your vehicle is being driven or is parked

Visit the rules and responsibilities page on GOV.UK for more details about using your Blue Badge.

Reporting misuse

If you wish to report misuse, please email the details to travel.service@croydon.gov.uk. We will need the first 6 characters of the Blue Badge number to investigate it.
