People across Croydon are being encouraged to “tell one person” about Shared Lives, as part of Shared Lives Week from 15 to 21 June.
Shared Lives is a form of social care where people share their homes, family life and community. It supports people to feel part of a household, build relationships and receive personalised care. Supporting nearly 10,000 people across the UK, most schemes are rated Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Support can include day support, short breaks and respite and long-term living arrangements.
Each arrangement is carefully matched based on shared values, lifestyles and personalities. People get to know each other gradually before any decisions are made, helping create lasting, life-changing relationships.
Becoming a Shared Lives carer offers flexible, meaningful work with training, support and financial reward.
We are encouraging everyone involved in (or supporters of) Shared Lives to tell one new person about Shared Lives.
