Contraception

Online contraception appointments can be booked through the Croydon Health Service website.

Oral contraception is also available through your GP. All GP contact details are held on the NHS UK website.

Emergency hormonal contraception

Emergency hormonal contraception (the morning after pill) should be taken within 3 days (72 hours) of unprotected sex. It is more effective if taken as soon as possible. Emergency contraception can be given up to 5 days (120 hours) after unprotected sex, so always ask if needed.

Emergency contraception does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.

Emergency contraception can be bought at pharmacies throughout Croydon and is free of charge, as part of the Enhanced Sexual Health Pharmacy service for women under 21.

Free emergency contraception is available at Croydon Health Service. Call 0208 401 3766 to book a telephone appointment with a contraceptive nurse.
