Local development scheme
The local plan consists of a series of documents which set out the spatial vision for Croydon, the strategy for delivery of this vision and detailed policies and guidance for managing development in the borough and development sites where change is anticipated. The description of these documents and their current stage in the local plan process can be found in the updated local development scheme (LDS). The timetable is summarised in a gantt chart on page 10 of the LDS, however key milestones are as listed below:
- Proposed submission consultation: January to February 2024
- Submission of plan to Secretary of State: Summer 2024
- Local plan examination anticipated during late 2024 (subject to availability of inspectors)
- Local plan adoption anticipated December 2025
