Penalty Charge Notices
Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), also known as parking fines, are issued when motorists break traffic or parking regulations. Often they are issued by our civil enforcement officers and placed on the vehicle.
If an offence is caught on camera, a PCN will be sent by post to the registered owner of the vehicle.
As a local authority we do not issue PCNs by text, if you have a question about the legitimacy of a PCN please contact our team.
Ways to pay
You will need the PCN number when paying by any of the following methods.
Your PCN reference is shown on your Charge Certificate and usually begins with “CR” followed by digits.
If it does not follow this format, it may have been issued by another organisation, such as Transport for London.
If you have lost your Charge Certificate and need your PCN reference number to make a payment or query the notice, please email PCN@croydon.gov.uk providing the:
- full name of the registered owner of the vehicle
- vehicle registration
